Are you interested in meditation but worried you won’t be able to do it? Have you tried to meditate but couldn’t stop thinking? Did you download an app and then never use it? Do you just want to feel better? You’re in the right place.
If you live a ‘normal’ life you will experience stress and fatigue. The nature of modern living guarantees it. The crucial question is not how to avoid or manage stress. It’s how quickly can you reset and recover? In my latest article for Frank Lipman MD, I answer these key questions: How do you give the nervous system the best possible chance to recover and reset? What tools and techniques are going to give you the greatest return on your investment of time and energy?
“Give the talk you’ve never given before.” This was the instruction from the team at Do Lectures. Five days before ‘Do Lectures’, I’d been asked to be one of the speakers at this amazing 4 day gathering of change-makers that happens every year in the wild west of Wales. As a Vedic Meditation teacher, I talk a lot about meditation – and yet much less about me and how it has impacted my life.
What a brilliant day speaking at the Joe Wicks Fesitval at the beautful Kew Gardens in London. Our talk at the ReTreat Tent on Vedic Meditation came at the perfect time in the afternoon when everyone needed a rest and reset after their workouts that morning. We loved seeing everyone and taking a moment to delve into the science behind meditation and share how powerful this simple technique is for the body and mind.
We had the pleasure of hosting a Music and Meditation night in London with our dear friends Rich Jacques and Thomas Hein (together they form Bon Vvnt), over in the UK on their European tour debuting their first album together. Meditating before listening to their beautiful music was super special and everyone in the room could feel it. Rich and Thomas both loved the good vibes it brought them on stage as they performed their new music for the first time. It was also a particularly special evening as the event was dedicated to raising money for a charity very close to our hearts, Frontline19. I met Claire, their founder, through our work with the Do Lectures. I was blown away by the incredible work the organisation is doing to support frontline workers with their mental health.
Wow. What an amazing evening celebrating the launch of my book, "Do Reset: Meditate. Move beyond thinking. Find clarity" at the stunning Pace Gallery in London. So special to gather with students, family, friends and many supporters, including the team at Do Books. I wrote Do Reset to explain how meditation is one of the most powerful tools to rebalance your system; to get past the noise, arrive at a state of inner mental quiet and tap into a virtually unlimited reservoir of energy and creative potential. Because meditation isn't about detaching from life. It's about becoming more dynamic and engaged in the world around you.
Such a wonderful night celebrating the release of my book Do Reset in New York with our New York Meditation Center students, friends and colleagues, hosted by the amazing Betsy Morgan. I loved visiting New York after several years away; catching up with old and new faces, and sharing the excitement of my second book was a special moment.
In my latest article for Frank Lipman MD, I explore how Vedic Meditation profoundly changes your brain – drawing on an extract from my book "Do Reset: Meditate. Move beyond thinking. Find clarity." Imagine you’re standing on the rocky shore, looking down into the water below. The surface of the ocean is churned up, covered in whitecaps whipped up by the wind. You dive into the water and, as you cut through the waves, immediately things begin to settle. As you descend further it becomes progressively quieter and more peaceful until you touch the floor of the ocean itself. A stillness surrounds you. This analogy is useful to help us understand the different layers of your mind. Like the ocean, the conscious, surface layers of the mind are busy and active. The deeper levels are progressively more subtle and refined, until you reach the baseline of the mind — pure, inner, serene quiet.

I was chatting with one of my students the other day about Liz Earle's brilliant new bestseller, “A Better Second Half”. This is such a comprehensive and easy-to-read book in which Liz draws down on her experience across so many areas, from eating, exercise, gut health, supplements and more. In the section “Protecting the Brain”, Liz talks about the importance of meditation in allowing the brain to rest and recharge. It’s been a joy working with Liz on refining her own daily Vedic Meditation practice and I’m thrilled she’s included this in her book. Thanks Liz for highlighting us as your recommended place to learn to meditate. And huge congratulations on hitting the bestseller lists. So very well deserved. If you’d like to hear more, check out my interview with Liz on her podcast, The Liz Earle Wellbeing Show.
“More and more people know about meditation, which is fantastic. But with that comes confusion. The thing I hear time and again, ‘oh, I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t sit down and stop thinking. I couldn’t shut down the thoughts. My mind is crazy busy.’ And in fact, that’s not what we want to do when we meditate, control the thoughts. Another myth is that ‘I don’t have time to meditate.’ What I found when I started meditating, 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the late afternoon, was that I actually had more time. I was more productive and was able to let go of things that shouldn’t have been on my to do list. Meditation really changed my relationship to time.” I recently sat down with our New York Meditation student, New York-based writer Elena Bowes. We discussed why I wrote my book, “Why Meditate? Because it Works” and the most common Meditation Myths that Michael and I hear from those who want to learn. We also discussed how Vedic Meditation helps you stay youthful…
"Twenty years ago, I graduated as a teacher of Vedic Meditation. This was the culmination of many years of meditating and more than a year of one-on-one study involving hundreds of hours of extended, deep meditation. As I left my haven in the mountains of Arizona to begin a new career, I took a massive leap into the unknown. The diversity of people I meet continues to inspire me – the appeal of this ancient technique of transcending thought is universal. And the power of this wisdom to bring truly positive change continues to motivate me. There is no teacher without students. It is a privilege to teach and I am so very grateful to everyone who has placed their trust in me to teach them this profound knowledge." - Jillian
"It's one year since my book, Why Meditate? Because it Works was released. It's been an incredible year. I've loved bringing this knowledge out into the world in this format. Thank you to everyone who has bought the book and messaged me saying how much you've enjoyed it. That means everything to me. And thank you to those who have showcased the book and brought it to wider audiences. From being featured in The Times to The Guardian , How To Academy and more, it's been amazing to see how eager people are to learn more about the life-changing benefits of meditation." – Jillian

Altogether...."
